Finasterideis a type of medication that may be prescribed to men who have male pattern baldness. Finasteride is a drug that is used to reduce the size of male baldness, androgenetic alopecia, or male pattern baldness. The drug is used in the treatment of the following hair loss conditions:
Dosageis prescribed to men who have a hereditary form of male-pattern baldness. The dosage is determined by the severity of the condition. It will be based on the individual's medical condition, hair loss, and response to treatment. The dose may be increased by one or two weeks, or decreased to a lower level (such as 1 mg per day) in some cases. The usual dose of medication for men who have a hereditary condition is 1 mg per day.
